Note to educators
At the heart of our work are three values: recognition of the central role teachers play in student achievement, deep understanding of the demands of your work, and commitment to assisting you with resources that you can trust to help you bring all of their students to higher levels of achievement.
And, for those times when your students need your encouragement to work hard, you will want to know that research conducted by the national organization Achieve (www.achieve.org/files/pollreport.pdf) has made clear that, when students are surveyed two years after high-school graduation, 75% express the wish that they had worked harder and had been challenged more by the adults around them. Amazingly, more than 60% say they wish they had taken more challenging mathematics courses in high school.
We hope that these resources will assist you in engaging more and more of your students in mathematics and in inspiring them to achieve at high levels. And, we welcome your feedback about ways to add to them and to improve them.
